What to Expect in the Masters of Commerce

What to Expect in the Masters of Commerce

Learning is a never-ending process. Gladly, there are several postgraduate courses that can help us learn further even after completing college programs. So, if you’re interested in learning more about economics, then you may want to know more about subjects like marketing, accounting, and management to further expand on what you wish to know.

Among the University of Rajasthan post-graduate programs that we offer is the Masters of Commerce. Requiring you with two more years of further education, enrolling in this course may be beneficial for you to venture further into your desired path.

With that, here are some things which you may want to include in your list of expectations if you are applying for a Masters in Commerce programme.

Understanding commerce

To have a degree focused on commerce is to have a deeper understanding of financial transactions, information, as well as trading values. Providing a more analytical approach to business and economics, commerce graduates are faced with tons of career opportunities before them as they finish their chosen programs.

Indeed, digging deeper into this field is no joke as it requires lots of analysis and interpretations of the economic field. With that, students under this course must brace themselves for years of study as this never goes old.

Specializations

Like any other course, commerce has a deep concentration in several fields. Here are some of them:

  • Management – Degree holders of the Masters of Commerce can be effective when it comes to general management. With their knowledge about the legalizations and the right implementations, they can further assist companies when it comes to their economical status.

  • Theories – Aside from handling management issues, degree holders of the Masters of Commerce will also have a deep understanding of the theories that will support further knowledge for the analysis of information. With that, they will learn how to connect things with one another and see the best approaches for different scenarios.

Curriculum

To be qualified for a Masters of Commerce program, one would need a record which can prove that they have already undertaken a related undergraduate program. Using that as a prerequisite to this course, students will be able to further expand their knowledge on what has been taught to them in their undergrad courses.

With that, here are some of the basic subjects that you can expect to see in the curriculum of the said course.

More about the great state of Rajasthan!

Rajasthan is a melting pot of stunning structures and delicious cuisines. Whether or not you find yourself paying Rajasthan a visit, locals will surely tell you that the region is every traveller’s dream spot.

Here are some fun facts about the great state of Rajasthan:

  1. Most cities in Rajasthan are colour-coded.

Big cities around the world have their own way of setting themselves apart from other cities. In the state of Rajasthan, however, cities are distinguishable by colour! For example, the city of Jaipur is clad with pink buildings and architecture while it’s all blue for the city of Jodhpur.

No matter which city in Rajasthan you go to, everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes!

  1. Rajasthan is the largest state in India.

By area, Rajasthan currently holds the title of being the largest state in India. It was formed after 22 kingdoms and towns all merged together to form one giant state in 1949!

  1. The meaning behind the word ‘Rajasthan’.

The state of Rajasthan is composed of two main words: ‘Raj’ and ‘sthan’. The two words when merged together mean ‘land of kings’. This is a fitting name for the state since it was initially made up of 22 different kingdoms!

  1. There are a lot of royal palaces in Rajasthan.

Obviously, a state that used to have kingdoms would have a lot of palaces built up throughout its history. In fact, the rulers of each kingdom built forts and palaces in their land. This makes Rajasthan clad with beautiful forts and palaces that tourists can visit and see for themselves!

Some of the palaces were turned into heritage hotels while others were expertly preserved, keeping their historic integrity intact. Tourists can enjoy their old glory while basking in the comfort that the royal palace exudes.

  1. India’s oldest mountain range is located in Rajasthan.

The state of Rajasthan is divided from the rest by the Aravalli Range, the country’s oldest mountain range. The Aravalli Range runs across Rajasthan from the southwest to the northeast.

  1. Rajasthan is home to the largest desert in India.

The Great Indian Desert, also known as the Thar Desert, is the largest desert in India. Rajasthan is India’s largest state which makes it cover a lot of India’s topography. More than 60% of the Thar Desert is located within Rajasthani borders.

  1. The state is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites!

With the amount of history behind the state, there is no doubt that heritage sites would be present. In fact, Rajasthan is home to three namely, the Keoladeo National Park, Jantar Mantar, and the Hill Forts of Rajasthan.

  1. There is a town in Rajasthan that ‘vanished’ in a single night.

The village of Kuldhara has a spooky story behind it. The village was first established in the 13th century and was once thriving and prosperous. For unknown reasons, however, the village was completely abandoned in the 19th century. No one knows where the villagers went or what happened to them.

Many locals regard the village as haunted thus, the many local legends about what really happened to it. In more recent times, the Rajasthani government declared the village as a tourist spot.

Are you having trouble choosing which course you’d take? U.R. gives you advice as you make one of the biggest decisions in your education phase.

  • Why?: Every time that you make a decision, always ask the question, ‘Why?’. Could it be because of your parents? Or the salary? Or is it really because of your passion? Either of 3, the most important is, how happy and content would you be?

  • Skills: Interest in a field of study is good, but always align your skills, strengths, and personal traits.

  • Career perspectives: Every course would give you a great job — even if it’s not aligned with your actual major. The knowledge and skills that you gained from it will help you apply for a long list of careers. But again, ask yourself if you see yourself happy and content with the job that you’ll be doing for a very long time.
